Brand Acquisition & Technology Integration
The technology framework that turns acquired brands into operating businesses, in real time.
The Challenge
As a PE-backed retailer with an active acquisition strategy, Backcountry needed to absorb new brands quickly and without disrupting existing operations. Each acquisition arrives with its own data, vendor relationships, and operational assumptions — and no standardized path to bring them onto core systems. The cost of getting this wrong is visible immediately: delayed operations, data integrity problems, and frustrated stakeholders on both sides of the transaction.
My Approach
I own the technology workstream for brand integrations — ERP onboarding, data migration, OMS routing, and vendor system alignment. Early acquisitions required building the approach from scratch, making real-time judgment calls on multi-brand architecture with long-term consequences. Each new acquisition continues to stress-test and refine the model, and I'm actively translating those lessons into a scalable integration framework as the program matures.
